Hospital Attendant- Patient Transporter (Part Time Day Shift 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM)

About the Role

At Stony Brook Medicine, our Hospital Attendants are valuable members of our team, primarily responsible for transporting patients and supplies throughout the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients, equipment, materials, computer printouts, and specimens to all areas of the hospital in a timely, efficient, and courteous manner.
• Locate equipment during retrieval runs to replenish inventory.
• Transport deceased individuals to the hospital morgue.
• Wash equipment in the designated washing area of Transport Services.
• Monitor dispatching responsibilities, including answering phones, logging calls, and dispatching Transport Services personnel.
• Perform daily scheduled runs for the delivery of computerized reports, supplies, and medical records.
• Ensure all services are performed efficiently and act as the responsible party to address service issues and take appropriate remedial action.

Qualifications

Required: Ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor.

Preferred: High School Diploma and previous experience working in a hospital setting and/or with the patient population. Possess excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, and the ability to work with all levels of the organization.

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance.
• Complete an electronic reference check with a minimum of three professional references.
• Successfully complete a 4-panel drug screen.
• Meet regulatory requirements for pre-employment screenings.
• Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

Pay

Anticipated Pay Range: $35,856 / Year *Pro Rated by Part-Time Hours
