This role is part of a 16-bed small-format hospital (8 ER, 8 Inpatient) in collaboration with ChristianaCare. Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, training, supervision, and coaching for hospital employees.
  • Serve as the Patient Safety Officer, monitoring and reporting patient incidents, serious events, and infrastructure failures.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analyses (RCA) and develop action plans to improve patient safety using PDCA techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and federal, state, and local regulations, as well as licensing and accreditation standards.
  • Handle patient grievances while adhering to Emerus values and protecting patient privacy (PHI).
  • Lead facility inspections by licensing and accrediting agencies.
  • Oversee all functional aspects of the hospital, including Nursing, Lab, Radiology, Pharmacy, Front Office, and Dietary.
  • Assume fiscal accountability through budgetary oversight.
  • Complete and communicate employee performance evaluations.
  • Monitor facility quality indicators and develop resolution plans in collaboration with regional and corporate functions.
  • Oversee employee training, safety, and quality initiatives.
  • Ensure the business office complies with policies, procedures, and protocols for patient processes, collections, and customer service.
  • Maintain appropriate supplies and materials for delivering quality patient care.
  • Work with Human Resources on employee-related issues, training, and staff development.
  • Ensure all functional areas are fully staffed with continuous coverage.
  • Participate in community outreach programs.
  • Attend staff meetings and other required company-sponsored events.
  • Travel to facility locations as needed.

Requirements

  • BSN required; MSN preferred.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse without sanctions.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association.
  • 3+ years of progressive management experience in a hospital or healthcare setting (preferred).
  • 5+ years of nursing experience (preferred).
  • Knowledge of JCAHO or DNV standards.
  • Completion of FEMA ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 700, and ICS 800 within 60 days of hire.
  • Fluency in English, both written and oral.
