About the Role

Provides spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and members of the Hospice Team at Calvary Hospital and Calvary @Home, a Bronx-based hospice dedicated to the palliative care of advanced cancer and other terminally ill patients. The role serves patients and families from diverse cultures and beliefs across New York City and the tristate area.

Responsibilities

  • Offer spiritual and emotional counseling to patients and families facing illness, death, grief, and bereavement.
  • Work as a member of an interdisciplinary hospice team.
  • Minister to patients and families in their homes (unless assigned exclusively to the Manhattan territory).

Qualifications

  • One (1) year of experience in pastoral/spiritual counseling related to illness, death, grief, and bereavement.
  • Minimum two (2) units of Clinical Pastoral Education; credentialed or Board Certified Chaplain preferred.
  • Recognition as a Pastoral or Spiritual Counselor.
  • At least one year of hospice experience preferred.
  • Ability to serve patients and families from diverse cultural and belief backgrounds.
  • Valid driver’s license required (not applicable for positions assigned exclusively to Manhattan territory).
  • Vehicle required for commuting to patients (not applicable for positions assigned exclusively to Manhattan territory).

Education

  • Baccalaureate Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.

Pay

$65,688.82 – $83,221.82 annually.
