Hospice RN - Weekend

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and ensure documentation aligns with reimbursement guidelines.
• Coordinate physical care with patients, families, physicians, and the hospice team.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and agency personnel.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings and quality reviews.
• Apply nursing theories, collaborate with the care team, and ensure compassionate, dignified care for terminally ill patients.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure in the practicing state.
• Successful completion of an accredited nursing program.
• At least two years of clinical nursing experience; hospice experience preferred.
• Knowledge of home health and hospice care frameworks and the nurse’s role within them.
• Understanding of nursing practices, agency policies, procedures, and reimbursement guidelines.
• Maintain 12 hours of continuing education annually.
• CPR certification required.
• Availability for travel, weekend, evening, and holiday call assignments.
