Hospice Music Therapist (MT-BC)

About the Role

This role involves providing individualized music therapy services to hospice patients and families in home and facility settings. The therapist conducts assessments, develops personalized plans, and delivers interventions that promote comfort, relaxation, and emotional expression.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and develop personalized music therapy plans.
• Deliver interventions to promote comfort, relaxation, and emotional expression.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
• Document services accurately in the EMR system.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to agency policies.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Licensed or registered in MI.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance.
• Current CPR certification, TB testing, and background checks.
• Bachelor's Degree in Music with a concentration in Music Therapy, meeting certification standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience with terminally ill patients is preferred.
• Hospice and palliative care certification is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal skills and emotional resilience.
• Commitment to patient dignity and comfort.
