About the role
Tidewell Hospice, a member of Empath Health, provides compassionate care to families in southwest Florida. The hospice focuses on helping patients with advanced illnesses live meaningfully while supporting their families.
Responsibilities
- Overall care of the patient, including basic personal care like taking vital signs and bathing, and household tasks that assist the primary caregiver.
- Educating the patient and primary caregiver about personal care, patient positioning, and daily living.
- Supporting and carrying out the organization's mission, vision, and values.
- Performing only those personal care/home maintenance activities contained in a written assignment (Hospice Aide Plan of Care) by a health professional employee.
- Recognizing and reporting unusual conditions, incidents, or behavior of a patient and/or patient/family interaction to the patient’s nurse or supervisory nurse.
- Maintaining utmost respect for confidentiality in care of the patient/family.
Requirements
- Florida State Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
- CPR certification is required.
- One year of recent experience in hospice, home health, or acute-care setting is preferred.
