Hospice Administrative Assistant

To assist with administrative functions of the office.

Responsibilities

  • Report daily census changes to billing department and maintain monthly census log.
  • Facilitate proper and timely billing by maintaining lines of communication with billing department.
  • Submit accounts payable information weekly and maintain a system to ensure invoices are submitted and paid.
  • Manage clinical records.
  • Perform receptionist duties for the office.
  • Order supplies as directed by Administrator.
  • Provide secretarial support to the Administrator and office staff as needed.
  • Maintain and update personnel files monthly.
  • Track signed physician orders.
  • Communicate effectively in written and oral form.
  • Establish rapport and work effectively with a variety of people.
  • Participate in center/agency surveys (Licensure/JCAHO) and any subsequently required reports.
  • Attend and participate in continuing education programs to maintain current license/certification.
  • Attend and participate in mandatory in-services.
  • Honor patients/residents' rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints.
  • Comply with corporate compliance program.
  • Report job-related functions/tasks involving occupational hazards, including exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
  • Follow established safety regulations, including fire protection, infection control, and smoking regulations.
  • Follow established safety procedures when performing tasks and/or working with equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Administrator or supervisor.

Requirements

  • Two years of college or business school and/or equivalent experience and training.
  • One year minimum experience.
  • Well-organized with ability to clearly set priorities.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters.
  • Knowledge of computer software, including proficiency in word-processing.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Maintain timely, regular attendance.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Communicate well with patients/residents/clients and family members, providing a warm and friendly greeting.
  • Respond to expressed concerns with a helpful, caring demeanor and answer questions professionally.

Full-time, 1st shift position located in Georgia-Macon.
