Administrative Assistant for Hospice Services

Responsible For

  • Assists with administrative-type duties (i.e. typing, filing, copying, sorting mail, calculations, answering phones, etc.) as requested by supervisor.
  • Processes patient plans of care, orders and multi-disciplinary flow sheets; updates, prints and distributes records as appropriate.
  • Reviews charts of admitted and discharged patients for deficiencies; monitors for compliance for correction of deficient documentation.
  • Maintains effective communication with others, both inside and outside the department, to give or obtain needed information or coordinate activities of patients (e.g. doctors’ appointments).
  • Ensures the accuracy of administrative functions and data entry in the electronic medical record.
  • Promotes the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and providing direct and open lines of communication.
  • Contributes to the work of committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • One year of experience in providing office administrative support and maintaining medical records.
