About the role
Provide assessments and outreach services in libraries, coffee shops, community centers, parks, and encampments to engage adults experiencing homelessness.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with the homeless community to connect individuals needing mental health, substance use, or medical treatment to available community assistance.
- Explore the community and identify individuals who are appropriate for outreach services.
- Work with minimal supervision, manage your own time effectively, handle a small caseload of clients, and maintain projects and responsibilities.
- Collaborate with community partners to work toward the goal of ending homelessness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Behavioral Science field or related discipline.
- Must qualify as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) under Texas Administrative Code (TAC) credentialing requirement (Rule §353.1415). Not sure if you qualify? Send your unofficial/official transcripts to jobs@tcbhc.org and we'll check for you.
- Mental health experience required; crisis experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and insurable through TCBHC.
- Able to interact safely and effectively with individuals with mental health disorders and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities (e.g., depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays).
