Job Summary

The Home Visitor Specialist conducts home inspections in designated areas to ensure childcare providers are compliant with regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Determine compliance with New York State Health and Safety Standards during on-site inspections.
  • Assess safety and future risk to children when non-compliance is identified.
  • Develop and implement Corrective Action Plans to address safety and risk issues.
  • Take action to protect children in subsidized care when providers are non-compliant.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to providers.
  • Enter inspection outcomes into the CCFS database and notify parents/providers of next steps.
  • Enroll legally exempt providers into CCFS.
  • Pre-approve eligible providers into the CACFP.
  • Report on and maintain accurate records of interactions with clients.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in early childhood, education, social services, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in education, human services, or a similar field is preferred.
  • Bilingual ability in Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, or Russian is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and communicate effectively.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Access, Excel, and Microsoft Word.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to handle various situations professionally.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a confidential environment.
