Responsibilities

  • Obtain information and documentation needed to assist in approving mortgages within timeframes and deadlines by communicating directly with the member, Home Loan Officers, Home Loan Processors, and third-party service providers as applicable.
  • Assist the Home Loan Origination team by reviewing loan applications for accuracy and completeness, reviewing and indexing required documentation for loan approval, and following up with members for additional documentation as required.
  • Aid the Home Loan Origination team by performing basic income calculations to include W2/wage earner, retirement, or fixed income.
  • Work effectively and efficiently with the Home Loan Origination team on their active pipeline by monitoring rate locks, NOIs, closing dates, and 30-day decisions to maintain service level agreements and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Provide support to the Home Loan Origination team by managing lead sources (Webforms, voicemails, emails, trigger leads, and Blend applications) to establish contact and follow-up with members within service level agreement timeframes, while also potentially tending the front desk for walk-in customers.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with members and third-party providers by upholding service level agreements and communicating effectively.
  • Support team members by maintaining positive working relationships that promote a collaborative and inviting team environment.
  • Work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse work group, as well as independently with minimum supervision.
  • Adapt to changes, solve practical problems, and handle a variety of situations exercising flexibility and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned for the efficient operation of the department and the organization, including the possibility of temporary assignments at other locations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in real estate origination or processing is preferred. Previous experience in STCU’s Home Loan department or other similar relevant experience or education in lending may be considered in lieu of home loan origination or processing experience.
  • National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration under the terms of the SAFE Act of 2008 is required.

Skills

  • Knowledge of Encompass, Blend, and Income Genius is preferred but not required.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to regularly talk, hear, and operate a computer, keyboard, and mouse.
  • Occasionally lift, pull/push, and carry up to 10 pounds with accommodations.

Work Conditions

  • Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting.
  • Exposure to a high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

Travel Demands

Must be available to travel between branches for team meetings, training, team building, or other events or activities when required.

Pay

Salary range: $20.42 - $28.58 per hour
