Home Health Staffing Coordinator- Mount Sinai Hospital - Full Time Days - Hybrid
About the role
Description Coordinates the staffing and scheduling of all disciplines that provide care for patients active with Mount Sinai Home Health and serves as a liaison with all external home health agencies that service patients that were referred to, but unable to be admitted to Mount Sinai Home Health due to staffing or geographical limitations.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates the ability to perform technical/service/administrative tasks.
- Maintains accurate work schedule for all home health staff responsible for direct patient care.
- Maintains personnel files for home health staff and ensures that all items are up to date.
- Maintains and updates addresses and phone numbers for home health staff.
- Affirms system for validating licensure for all registered and practical nursing personnel.
- Affirms system for validating credentials and evaluation process for all supplemental staff.
- Enters and Maintains data in Time Keep or applicable staff time tracking application.
- Verifies staffing availability for all home health referrals.
- Communicates and assigns new referrals to home health staff.
- Refers and tracks acceptance/denial of home health referrals to external agencies.
- Prints and scans home health Plans of Care into patient records.
- Sends and tracks home health Plans of Care for Provider signature.
- Serves as primary point of contact with external home health agencies.
- Records and validates invoices submitted by external home health agencies.
- Participates in the department’s performance improvement activities.
- Covers all supplies and equipment for home health team.
- Maintains patient/employee confidentiality in the management of information.
- Consults with Directors and Managers regarding daily and advanced time schedules.
- Affirms maintenance of an accurate Staffing Plan.
- Records sick calls and triages coverage needs including patient reassignment.
- Tracks acceptance rates and response times of external home health agencies.
Qualifications
- HS/GED and 4 years of related health care experience, or Associate's degree and 2 years; Bachelor's or Master's Degree preferred in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- 2+ years related experience, required with Associate's degree, as above.

Compensation
The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $66482.07 - $81675 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
