Home Health Sales Account Executive
About the Role
The Home Health Account Executive is responsible for successfully marketing to doctors’ offices, hospitals, nursing facilities, ALFs (Assisted Living Facilities), and various communities and organizations to achieve the Company’s financial and market share goals. You will identify and educate potential customers and referral sources about healthcare services provided by the Company, establish trusted relationships with referral sources and in-house staff, and continually prospect for new accounts while maintaining current ones.
This role offers autonomy and flexibility, with most of your time spent in the field rather than behind a desk. You will be visible in the community, conducting in-services, presentations, educational luncheons, and attending relevant events to introduce home health care services to physicians, patients, their families, facility staff, and other referral sources.
Responsibilities
- Educate and present to referral sources such as skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and physician/doctors’ offices.
- Conduct in-services, presentations, educational luncheons, and host or attend relevant events to promote home health care services.
- Promote professional relationships with physicians, health facilities, and other customers to improve the agency’s position in the community.
- Regularly consult with the Administrator on all aspects of marketing/sales activities.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate all marketing/sales activities for company services.
- Interact with Directors and Supervisors regarding maintenance of accounts.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with referral sources through ongoing assessment.
- Coordinate and complete on-site discharge planning when needed.
- Design a regular schedule of visits to all referral sources in a geographically defined market area.
- Develop and execute sales strategy.
- Participate in in-service programs and the HHA’s QAPI program.
- Maintain consistent attendance and submit all credentials in a timely manner.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of healthcare, home health, or hospice sales experience (home health experience is a plus).
- Licensed clinical experience is preferred.
- Established community relationships, connections, or referrals.
- Excellent people and relationship skills (with referral sources, patients, family members, and the general public).
- Strong ability to present and communicate effectively (verbally and in writing).
- Ability to work well independently as well as in groups.
- Enthusiastic, highly motivated, self-starter with a genuine, empathetic, and problem-solving personality.
- Knowledgeable regarding standards of practice for all services offered.
- Valid and current driver’s license and evidence of automobile insurance.
- Ability to travel to multiple job sites and attend required meetings.
- Strong critical thinking and strategic sales skills.
