About the role
The Occupational Therapist 2 evaluates patients and helps them improve basic motor functions and reasoning abilities. Assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of appropriate courses of action.
- Assist the physician with the initial evaluation of patients to assess needs for service and establish realistic goals.
- Administer treatment programs prescribed by a physician and teach activities of daily living.
- Provide training in the proper use of prosthetic devices and adaptive equipment.
- Instruct other members of the healthcare team in maintaining therapeutic, creative, and self-care activities.
- Provide appropriate documentation of services in keeping with agency policies and procedures.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, performance improvement activities, and other assigned meetings.
- Respect patients’ rights and cultural beliefs.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient and agency information.
- Adhere to all agency policies and procedures, including HIPAA.
- Accept only those assignments for which qualified.
- Monitor and supervise the occupational therapist assistant.
- Communicate with the agency about any problems or concerns.
- Comply with state regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Currently licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Florida.
- CPR certification.
- OSHA Certificate.
- HIV/AIDS Certificate.
- HIPAA Certificate.
- Alzheimer’s Certificate.
- Medical Errors Certificate.
- Domestic Violence Certificate.
- Minimum 1+ year(s) of professional or personal experience supporting individuals with disabilities, mental illnesses, or challenging behaviors.
- This role is considered patient-facing and is part of Humana’s Tuberculosis (TB) screening program; if selected, you will be required to be screened for TB.
- Must have a valid in-state driver’s license, provide current registration and insurance, and have a driving record with no more than 2 points within the last 3 years.
- This role is part of Humana’s Driver safety program and requires proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least 100,000/300,000/100,000 limits.
Pay
The pay range is $85,400 - $117,500 per year, based on geographic location and individual pay factors such as skills, knowledge, experience, education, and certifications.
