About the role

BJC Home Care offers patients and their families a complete range of home care services, including skilled nursing services, adult and pediatric hospice and supportive care, rehabilitation therapy, home infusion therapy, infusion treatment rooms, home medical equipment and high-tech respiratory care. Specialty home care programs also are available, including adult and pediatric asthma, cardiac, diabetes, orthopedic and wound care programs. BJC Home Care provides care to thousands of patients in both Missouri and Illinois. Serving more than 25 counties, it has become the largest home care network in the region and one of the largest in the country. The Metro St. Louis Intermittent Home Care Department of BJC Home Care Services provides home visits to patients in the metropolitan St. Louis area and several nearby counties, with 24 hour on-call home care nursing supervision. Responsibilities

• Obtains vital signs and other measurements as directed and documents findings promptly.
• Meets patient hygiene, comfort, nutrition, and hydration needs and documents as required.
• Recognizes and reports abnormal findings or changes in patient status to the nurse throughout entire shift.
• Implements care under the supervision of the nurse or Primary Case Manager. In Home Health, this can be done with a RN/PT/OT or Speech Pathologist.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: No experience required
• Supervisor Experience: No experience required
• Licenses & Certifications: Automobile Insurance, Basic Life Support (BLS), Certified Nurse Assistant, Valid Driver's License

Qualifications

• Preferred experience: less than 2 years
• Prior experience in home health is a plus
• Must be comfortable with community travel and going into patients' homes
• Mileage reimbursement provided

Schedule

Full time – 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Benefit eligible. No weekends, holidays, or on‑call required.
