Home Care Aide Flex

We are urgently hiring Home Care Aides (HCAs) in Bernalillo, Edgewood, Los Ranchos, Moriarty, Rio Rancho, Tijeras, Carnuel, and many other areas in New Mexico.

About the role

This position supports seniors and people with disabilities living independently in their homes by assisting with daily tasks. The Home Care Aide – Core is on call 5 days per week (minimum one weekend day) for 40 hours per week (20 hours guaranteed). The schedule is determined by the direct supervisor, and assignments on scheduled days cannot be refused.

Responsibilities

• Call into the office every morning for assignment
• Follow specific care plans for clients and report on completed tasks
• Assist with personal care needs (bathing, dressing, etc.)
• Provide or assist in routine house cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry
• Transport clients to doctor’s appointments, grocery stores, and other essential errands
• Assist clients with self-administration of medications
• Observe and report any changes in the client’s condition

Requirements

• 5 days per week availability (minimum one weekend day)
• 40 hours per week (20 hours guaranteed)
• On call for 24-hour shifts
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must pass a criminal background check
• Must have reliable transportation; if by car, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance are required

Working Conditions

The physical demands described are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this job:

• Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands to handle controls
• Must be physically able to perform duties, including lifting in excess of 15 lbs (with or without assistance)
• Bending, stooping, transferring, turning, and positioning clients
• Assisting clients with ambulation
• Frequently required to reach, stand, walk, and stoop
• Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
