About the role

As the Sous Chef, you’re the creative force behind the banquet kitchen, whipping up delicious bites that wow every guest. Whether you’re following classic recipes or inventing new favorites for special events, you make sure every dish looks and tastes amazing. You team up to keep everything spotless, safe, and organized, all while making smart choices to reduce waste and get the most from every ingredient. This position is an overtime eligible manager (OEM), with overtime calculated accordingly.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and team members with enthusiasm, maintaining a professional appearance and fostering a positive environment.
• Uphold Aimbridge Hospitality’s standards to ensure the hotel operates safely, smoothly, and efficiently.
• Lead, motivate, and train the kitchen team, including hiring, coaching, and developing staff to achieve excellence.
• Manage kitchen budgets, inventory, and food costs while maintaining organization and cleanliness.
• Design banquet menus and create visually stunning food presentations for plating and buffets.
• Resolve complex workplace challenges independently, escalating only the most difficult issues.
• Communicate clearly, evaluate options promptly, and actively listen to address concerns from colleagues and guests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 2 to 4 years of experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant.
• Demonstrated subject matter expertise with the ability to lead, coach, and mentor others.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
