About the Role

The Outlet Supervisor oversees service in the Food and Beverage Outlets, assists the manager with training, motivating, and coaching staff, and monitors expenses and labor costs.

Responsibilities

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with company standards, as required by scheduling.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
  • Comply with company standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times, being attentive, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and fellow employees.
  • Ensure work areas are properly stocked and prepare requisitions as needed.
  • Keep work areas neat and clean.
  • Check that trays and tables are set to standards.
  • Ensure quality control of all menus regarding cleanliness and appearance.
  • Assist in the outlets when necessary.
  • Ensure tables are cleared promptly and orders are delivered on time.
  • Ensure proper settlement of checks and food quality.
  • Communicate with the oncoming shift.
  • Handle guest complaints or special requests and escalate to management when necessary.
  • Train and perform all duties required of food and beverage outlet employees.
  • Hold pre-meal meetings daily to monitor service and promote upselling.
  • Check staffing levels and adjust according to business demand.
  • Requisition linen as needed and ensure the property is free of trays and trash.
  • Control payroll costs in food and beverage outlets.
  • Attend meetings and training as required by management.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field required.
  • Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Medium work – exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

  • Must convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Must evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations, including handling guest objections and disputes to satisfactory results.

  • Must understand financial information and data, and perform basic arithmetic functions.
