About the Role
This is a physically demanding role on an active construction site, requiring operation of heavy equipment including forklifts, skid steers, hoists, elevators, mobile cranes, and drill rigs under 50K torque. The position involves operating a dual hoist at Tower 1 with the following specifications:
- Eight thousand (8,000) pound capacity dual cage rack-and-pinion hoist
- Counterweighted personnel and material hoist
- Location: Approximately Column Line R-F on the South Elevation of the building
- Minimum cage speed: 300 feet per minute (fpm)
- Minimum interior clear cage size: 18’-0" L x 5' W x 8'-4" H
- Cage capacity: 8,000 lbs
- Levels serviced by each cage: L1 to L42
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain cranes and other heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Lift, move, and position materials or equipment using the crane
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents or injuries
- Communicate with team members to coordinate lifting operations
- Adhere to project timelines and deadlines
Requirements
- 5-10 years or more of operating experience with forklifts, skid steers, hoists, elevators, mobile cranes, or drill rigs under 50K torque
- Previous experience operating cranes or other heavy equipment
- Knowledge of crane operation techniques and safety procedures
- Familiarity with mechanical principles and equipment maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications
- Proficient in shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations
- Experience operating backhoes, boom trucks, forklifts, or other heavy machinery

- Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Physical Demands
- Physically demanding role on an active construction site
- Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and construction traffic
- Frequently lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds alone; use team-lifting techniques for heavier items
- Long periods of continual standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, and reaching
- Good balance and dexterity for working at various heights and in tight spaces
- Visual acuity to operate equipment and spot hazards
- Ability to hear, with or without assistance, to understand instructions in noisy environments
Work Environment
- Regular outdoor work, exposed to elements such as heat, cold, rain, snow, or wind
- Exposure to moving mechanical equipment, high noise levels, dust, fumes, airborne particles, vibrations, and potential electrical hazards
- Consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and strict adherence to safety policies and procedures
- High-performance, demanding environment requiring flexibility to work extended hours, especially during critical project phases or client deadlines
Additional Notes
Clark promotes a drug-free workplace. A pre-employment drug "fitness for duty" screening is required, along with random quarterly drug tests.
