About the role

Drive forklift truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, fork-grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move raw paper materials, in-process products, finished products, equipment, or materials in warehouse, storage yard, or factory. May load and unload semi-trailer trucks. Maintain accurate inventory and report any discrepancies. May load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting devices. Perform safety checks on lifts. May lubricate truck, recharge batteries, fill fuel tank, or replace liquefied-gas tank.

Responsibilities

• Handle controls for starting, stopping, backing, and driving forklift or clamp truck through aisles, ramps, and in/out of railroad cars and trucks
• Lift, lower, and tilt forks by operating controls with hands, arms, feet, and legs
• Assess dimensions of forklift truck and its load to determine clearance requirements for doorways, aisles, shelves, and bins
• Determine if forklift can safely lift and balance the load
• Navigate storage areas using knowledge of layout to locate and place items without detailed instructions

Requirements

• Skilled operation of forklift or clamp truck controls
• Ability to judge spatial dimensions and weight capacity of forklift and loads
• Knowledge of storage area layout

Schedule

Tues–Sat, 7:15 AM–6:00 PM. Shift may change based on business needs.

Pay

$18.00/hour at the noted location. Actual rate may vary based on education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. Total compensation may include overtime and shift differential.
