Hockey Writer
About the role
Last Word on Hockey is seeking freelance writers to cover various National Hockey League (NHL) teams and topics. The ideal candidate will have excellent written communication skills, experience watching or covering the NHL, and preferably experience with WordPress.
Responsibilities
- Write 2 articles per week (8 per month)
- If seeking media credentials, write 3 articles per week in season and 2 articles per week out of season, with a minimum commitment of 60 days
- Cover assigned team year-round, not just during the season
Qualifications
- Excellent written communication skills
- Experience watching or covering the National Hockey League (NHL)
- Experience with WordPress (preferable)

We are looking for writers to cover the following teams: Anaheim Ducks, Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, Calgary Flames, Carolina Hurricanes, Chicago Blackhawks, Colorado Avalanche, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Detroit Red Wings, Edmonton Oilers, Florida Panthers, Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota Wild, Nashville Predators, New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders, New York Rangers, Ottawa Senators, Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, San Jose Sharks, Seattle Kraken, St. Louis Blues, Tampa Bay Lightning, Toronto Maple Leafs, Utah Mammoth, Vancouver Canucks, Vegas Golden Knights, Washington Capitals, and Winnipeg Jets. We also have openings for writers to cover fantasy, news and rumors, predictions, and prospects.
Payment
The payment model is based on revenue sharing, where writers are paid based on the traffic share they accumulate. The more you write and promote your work, the more you get paid.
