About the role

This job will close on Friday, July 10th at 5 p.m. Pacific Time.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively works with Loan Officers on new residential mortgage loans and incoming MRM referrals that meet established loan quality and production goals.
  • Identifies, develops, and maintains a network of business relationships that serve as a recurring source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities.
  • Gains and maintains thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, demonstrating a commitment to professional ethics, and complying with Credit Union, federal, and state regulations, laws, and policies.
  • Pre-qualifies applicants to determine the proper loan program, keeps the applicant, vendors, and other interested parties informed on the status of the application, and processes the loan request as needed.
  • Ensures exceptional member service by ensuring loan file setup and helping other Loan Officers track down conditions, obtaining and validating all documents, reviewing Automated Underwriting system conditions, and ensuring the loan meets eligibility, underwriting guidelines, and all conditions for closing.

Requirements

  • Two years’ experience and/or training in a public facing service sector (i.e. financial institution, mortgage company etc.), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Eligible to be registered as a loan originator with the appropriate state or federal agency.
  • Reads and interprets documents such as credit bureau reports, dept to income ratio reports, appraisals, tax returns, and policy and procedure manuals.
  • Speaks effectively with borrowers, Realtors, and other employees of the credit union.
  • Utilizes interpersonal skills effectively in a team environment.

  • Ability to read and write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to analyze detailed financial and credit data, matching the applicant’s needs with an appropriate loan program.
  • Ability to gather all initial documentation required based upon the applicant’s selected loan program and all disclosure requirements.
  • Ability to learn, understand, and effectively apply mortgage lending policies and procedures to all mortgage lending situations.
  • Ability to maintain knowledge and adhere to all BSA regulations and compliance standards on internal and external policies.
  • Ability to work independently with very limited supervision, and as a team member.
  • Ability to adapt to change within working responsibilities, be it internal, market, or regulatory driven.

Skills

  • Ability to incorporate concepts of CARES Principles in daily behaviors and interactions.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
