HL7 Integration Engineer
Description
The Large Healthsystem is seeking a Senior Systems Integration Engineer to support Epic integration initiatives and maintain/collaborate on critical healthcare interfaces. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining healthcare system integrations, troubleshooting, and enhancing interfaces with Epic, Workday, and other enterprise applications.
- Build and support Epic-related interfaces within the organization's integration environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve interface incidents, errors, and data exchange issues.
- Monitor interface performance, error queues, and integration dashboards.
- Participate in enhancement projects, system upgrades, and application implementations.
- Analyze integration requirements and document technical solutions.
- Assess the impact of proposed changes to existing integrations and architecture.
- Collaborate with analysts, architects, application teams, and operational stakeholders.
- Support vendor upgrades, maintenance releases, and system enhancements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 6+ years of integration engineering experience
- Current (or recently lapsed) Epic Bridges Certification
- Epic interface development and support experience
- InterSystems IRIS experience
- Strong HL7 knowledge
- Healthcare IT background
- Experience handling both project implementation and production support
- Able to work EST hours (8 AM–5 PM Monday-Friday)
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, short-staffed environment
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Richmond, VA.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
