HL7 Interface Engineer

Core Job Responsibilities

• Provides HL7 administration, implementation, support and planning for systems of complexity as assigned.
• Performs advanced diagnoses and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
• Maintains and supports the use of the latest available platform technologies and tools where feasible.
• Manages overall project management for various new application implementations and ongoing upgrades and modifications on existing products.
• Collects data from performance and uptime monitoring tools and provides reports to management for information and review.
• Makes recommendations on strategic direction as it relates to application interoperability throughout the MVHS IT network.
• Makes recommendations and offers solutions based on trends to maintain or improve efficient HL7 interface management and administration.

Education/Experience Requirements

• REQUIRED: BS degree in computer science, engineering, telecommunications or related field; Minimum 8 years of experience in database management and administration.
• PREFERRED: MS degree in computer science, engineering, telecommunications or related field.

Licensure/Certification Requirements

• REQUIRED: Minimum 2 IT certifications (i.e., Cloverleaf).

Qualifications

Proven ability to build and maintain interfaces between electronic health record (EHR) systems, clinical applications, laboratory systems, radiology platforms, billing systems, and third-party healthcare solutions.

Strong background in troubleshooting interface issues, optimizing data workflows, ensuring data integrity, and supporting regulatory and organizational interoperability requirements.
