HIV Support and Wellbeing Specialist

About the Role

The HIV Support Advocacy and Wellbeing Specialist will deliver high-quality, person-centered advocacy, wellbeing, and community support for people living with HIV across Essex. Working alongside the HIV Support Project Lead, the postholder will conduct holistic assessments, manage a caseload, and provide support for individuals with complex health, social, and emotional needs, including poverty, welfare, stigma, mental health, housing, and substance use.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic assessments and manage a caseload of individuals with complex needs.
• Support targeted outreach and engagement activities to reduce health inequalities and improve engagement in HIV care.
• Strengthen referral pathways and increase access to support for communities disproportionately affected by HIV.
• Empower people living with HIV through partnership working, group facilitation, awareness raising, and co-production.
• Help shape responsive, inclusive services across Essex.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent qualification/experience in health, social care, public health, or a related field.
• Experience of advocacy and well-being support.
• Experience or understanding of supporting people with complex needs and health inequalities within marginalized communities.
• Own car, clean driving license, and ability to travel across Essex.

Pay

£25,001 - £35,000 per year.

Schedule

Full-time, 35 hours per week. May require evening and weekend work to meet service needs.

Location

Option of base at Provide Premises in either Chelmsford, Colchester, Basildon, or Harlow.
