Brief Description
- Administer long-acting injectable HIV therapies and related medications according to provider orders and clinical protocols.
- Assess patients prior to injections for adverse reactions, contraindications, and treatment compliance.
- Monitor and document patient responses, side effects, and follow-up care.
- Provide education regarding HIV treatment, injectable medications, adherence, and prevention strategies.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR) documentation.
- Cook up and document medication inventory, storage, and handling according to manufacturer and infection control guidelines.
- Schedule and track recurring injection appointments to ensure continuity of care.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, pharmacists, case managers, and support staff regarding patient treatment plans.
- Auxiliary with prior authorizations, medication coordination, and patient referrals as needed.
- Support infection control standards and maintain a clean and safe clinical environment.
- Provide cross-coverage and clinical assistance for other specialties and departments within the organization as needed.
- Float between clinic areas or specialties to assist with patient care demands and staffing coverage.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and ongoing clinical training.
Requirements
- Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- 3 years of ambulatory care or community health experience.
- Strong working knowledge of eClinicalWorks and documentation standards.
- Experience leading or mentoring clinical support staff.
