About the Role

This is a part- to full-time instructional, adjunct faculty position in the History of Art Department for the Fall 2026 semester. The role is term-based, not eligible for tenure or promotion, and renewal is contingent on unit needs, funding, and performance. The position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with United Academics (UAKU).

Responsibilities

  • Teach online courses in History of Art (100% instructional duties).
  • Develop course materials, syllabi, lectures, and assignments.
  • Grade student work, provide feedback, and assign final grades.
  • Hold regular office hours for student advising.
  • Prepare for and attend all class meetings; arrange substitutes if absent (classes should not be canceled).
  • Provide instruction throughout the semester (typically 2.5 hours/week).
  • Supervise Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs) if necessary.
  • Adhere to departmental, college, and university policies.

Requirements

Undergraduate Level Courses

  • Master’s degree in History of Art.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the specific History of Art course.
  • Previous teaching experience (classroom or online) at the university/college level.

Graduate Level Courses

  • Ph.D. in History of Art or a related field.
  • Evidence of research productivity in the field of specialization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or ABD (All But Dissertation) in History of Art or a related field.
