Histology Technician- PRN

About the role

Monitors the technical functions within histology. These functions include but are not limited to quality of work, procedures and methods, and expenses. Perform the duties of a staff histotechnician.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with JCAHO, DHEC, CLIA, and CAP standards.
• Assure laboratories comply with established standards.
• Monitor technical functions within histology.
• Perform duties of a staff histotechnician.

Requirements

• Associates degree from an accredited college/university.
• No experience required.

Qualifications

• HT(ASCP) certification by American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) or equivalent preferred.
• If not certified, must have completed a NACCLS Accredited HT/HTL Program and be certification eligible, certification must be achieved within 1 year of hire, until certification achieved salary will be 10% less.

Rotating shifts, overtime as required, latex-safe environment, physical requirements including ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and ability to work in temperature extremes.
