Histo Technologist - Internal Traveler

Contract Histotech position within the UVA Health Internal Traveler Program (ITP). The ITP offers experienced healthcare professionals the flexibility of 13‑week assignments combined with the opportunity to become part of one of the nation's leading academic health systems. Responsibilities

• Perform histology procedures including embedding, microtomy, and cover slipping.

Requirements

• Clinical education in a Histology Technician School (HT) program accredited by NAACLS or equivalent for HTL(ASCP).
• Minimum 1 year experience in a histology laboratory.
• ASCP or equivalent certification required.

Skills

• Ability to sit, stand for prolonged periods, frequently travel, bend/stoop.
• Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to write legibly.
• Ability to lift/push/pull 20–50 lbs.
• May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, noise, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.

Pay

The pay rate for this role is $54.00 per hour (fixed rate).
