HISTO SUPERVISOR

About the Role

Assumes responsibility for first-line supervision of a section within the laboratory, covering areas such as Chemistry / Special Chemistry, Hematology, Serology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and others. Acts as a cover for the Lab Manager and produces accurate results in various laboratory disciplines under the supervision of a medical technologist.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate results in hematology, serology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology, and other designated areas.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of techniques, principles, instruments, and their inter-relationships, as well as physiological conditions affecting test results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 3-5 years equivalent combination of education and experience in a related area.
• Registration/Certification/Licensure: ASCP, AMT, NCA, or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of related experience.

Requirements

• Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
