About the role

One You Love Homecare is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and patient live-in caregiver to provide one-on-one support to an older adult in Annapolis, Maryland. The caregiver will offer companionship, personal care assistance, meal preparation, medication reminders, transportation, and household support. Dementia-care experience is preferred. The client currently walks and transfers independently but requires supervision, reminders, and encouragement to remain safe and maintain daily routines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support.
  • Offer reminders and redirection as needed.
  • Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, and personal hygiene.
  • Monitor the client during showers and provide cueing and support.
  • Remind the client to use the restroom regularly and change protective undergarments when needed.
  • Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner based on the client’s preferences; encourage regular meals and adequate fluid intake.
  • Provide medication reminders according to the care plan.
  • Accompany the client on walks, errands, grocery shopping, meals, and local activities.
  • Provide transportation using the caregiver’s vehicle when needed.
  • Perform light housekeeping, including dishes, laundry, vacuuming, changing bed linens, and taking out the trash.
  • Check for mail and packages.
  • Ensure the client’s phone is charged and not on mute.
  • Monitor the client’s safety and promptly report changes in her condition to the agency.
  • Follow all care-plan instructions and complete required shift documentation.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in caregiving, home care, dementia care, or a related field is preferred.
  • Patient, compassionate, dependable, and comfortable providing frequent reminders.
  • Able to communicate clearly and respectfully with the client, family, and care team.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Able to pass all required background checks and onboarding requirements.
  • Comfortable wearing regular professional clothing rather than scrubs while working with the client.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the shift.
  • Ability to assist with personal care and mobility when needed.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to remain attentive to client safety and potential fall risks.

$280.00 per day

Schedule

This is a live-in caregiver position. The exact schedule and rotation will be discussed during the interview.
