HireAbility Career Training and Education Coach - Temporary

About the role

The Career Training and Education Coach will provide on-site support for participants with disabilities in education/training settings and/or on the job site. This may include direct, one-to-one support at job sites to provide hands-on job training, tutoring or coaching at workshops, training programs or classes, and assisting with pre-vocational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on job training in a workplace to help participants become fully independent.
• Tutor or coach participants at workshops, training programs, or classes to help them become independent and successful.
• Assist with pre-vocational skills such as driving permit tests, CDL exams, or other independent living skills.
• Support participants in becoming stable on the job and provide periodic check-ins with them and/or their supervisors.
• Travel to education, training, or job sites as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and six (6) months or more of work or volunteer experience in human services, customer service, or a related field requiring considerable personal interactions.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required.

Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to provide hands-on job training and support.
• Knowledge of pre-vocational skills and resources.

Schedule

Work schedule varies based on specific training needs of participants. Occasional night/weekend hours may be requested.
