HIPAA SME

About the role

This role supports financial strategy, forecasting, and performance management initiatives that strengthen business visibility and decision-making. You will partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to improve planning processes, financial discipline, controls, and resource allocation. The position offers the opportunity to influence enterprise performance and scalable financial operations within a mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Review security and privacy complaints and breaches to assess HIPAA compliance
• Evaluate technical sufficiency of submissions from HIPAA covered entities
• Document processes and develop reports including analysis and recommendations
• Create written reports on technical security analyses and root causes
• Provide expertise in developing health information privacy policies
• Deliver subject matter expertise based on national security standards and best practices
• Design and manage information security programs to protect health information

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain and maintain required customer clearance
• Preference for industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CIPP/CIPT
• 10 years of relevant cybersecurity experience preferred
• Experience with auditing and generating audit reports required
• Knowledge of computer security procedures and protocols is necessary
