About the role

Based in Princeton, KY, the HIP Operator works under the direction of the Operations Supervisor to perform critical functions related to equipment operation in the Control Room. This position is deemed safety-sensitive due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently and carefully build and box cycles, including loading/unloading customer parts onto, into, or out of units, baskets, tubs, racks, or other containers as required.
  • Independently operate, control, and monitor unit equipment as outlined in standard procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork.
  • Operate equipment in the Control Room, including creating/correcting Load Diagrams and updating the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Database.
  • Conduct gas analysis, manage proper compressor usage, and determine when and where to save reclaimed gas.
  • Set and monitor temperature and pressure for optimal cycle performance within allowed deltas.
  • Determine which thermocouples to disregard and where to place thermocouples for optimal temperature readings.
  • Decide the temperature to start venting cycles and the appropriate size of can/ring for loading parts.
  • Follow established work procedures, control measures, and applicable Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) rules, including the use of PPE where issued.
  • Respect all guards, barriers, and permits at all times.
  • Cooperate in health screening and surveillance procedures as required.
  • Immediately report any unusual problem, irregularity, or concern to the Supervisor or management.
  • Operate a forklift and crane.
  • Practice and promote safety and good housekeeping.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
  • Ensure the care and treatment of customer inventory, performing duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent loss or damage.
  • Report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience with heat treatment operation and/or drinking/waste water management.
  • Must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operator certification.
  • May be required to work overtime or any shifts, including weekends.

Physical & Mental Demands

  • Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods in an industrial environment.
  • Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
  • Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform job functions.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity.
  • Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, and files.
  • Ability to hear in person and via phone.
