HIM Technician

Description

As a “Health Information Management Tech” you will collaborate with others to monitor and audit EHR documentation. Reviews records as scheduled or on an ad hoc basis to establish completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of documentation. Performs audit of metadata to detect potential privacy breaches related to EHR access. Selects appropriate or defined sample size to support audit validity. Monitors and reviews MPI duplicate reports to ensure timely processing and correction.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and experience in Medical Office, Medical Records, or other applicable health care experience.
• Strong knowledge of Medical Record concepts including record completion requirements, chart tracking, and release of information procedures.
• Knowledge of data analysis concepts.
• Experience with Computer skills to include Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
