About the role
As a Health Information Management Tech you will collaborate with others to monitor and audit electronic health record (EHR) documentation, ensure record completeness, accuracy, and timeliness, and support privacy and data integrity initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and audit EHR documentation in collaboration with team members.
- Review records on a scheduled or ad‑hoc basis to verify completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Perform audits of metadata to detect potential privacy breaches related to EHR access.
- Select appropriate sample sizes to support audit validity.
- Monitor and review Master Patient Index (MPI) duplicate reports to ensure timely processing and correction.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in a medical office, medical records, or other applicable health‑care setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical record concepts, including record completion requirements, chart tracking, and release‑of‑information procedures.
- Understanding of data analysis concepts.
- Proficiency with computer applications such as Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
