About the role
The Release of Information (ROI) team operates under the guidance of Capital Health, a dynamic health care resource accredited by DNV. The team ensures accurate, compliant, and timely processing and disclosure of protected health information in alignment with hospital, state, and federal regulations and industry best practices.
Responsibilities
- Leads and prioritizes ROI workflow to assure accurate and timely operations.
- Trains, schedules, resolves conflicts, evaluates performance, and assists in career advancement opportunities for staff.
- Facilitates resolution of complex or escalated issues with patients, providers, attorneys, payers, law enforcement, and internal departments.
- Maintains ROI performance metrics for continuous improvement.
- Works closely with Revenue Cycle, Risk Management, and hospital teams to enhance customer satisfaction and organizational outcomes.
- Develops and updates department procedures and job aids.
- Troubleshoots system issues and follows up to ensure resolution.
- Maintains knowledge of privacy regulations and communicates updates to staff.
- Represents ROI in interdisciplinary committees to provide subject matter expertise.
- Adapts to changing demands for higher department efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate's or bachelor’s degree in health information management preferred.
- Three years' experience in an acute care hospital HIM department required.
- One year in leadership or supervisory capacity experience preferred.
- RHIT/RHIA preferred.

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications.
