HIM Identity Specialist

About the role

Cottage Health seeks a HIM Identity Specialist for their CH Health Information Management department responsible for providing support to the HIM Department and Members of the Medical Staff to ensure the electronic legal patient medical record and demographic data meets regulatory requirements and supports high quality patient care by being legible, complete and accurate.

Responsibilities

• Supports patients with ensuring complete and accurate birth certificate data and timely filing of paternity documents.
• Affords support to the HIM Department and Members of the Medical Staff to ensure the electronic legal patient medical record and demographic data meets regulatory requirements and supports high quality patient care by being legible, complete and accurate.
• Affords support to the HIM Department and Members of the Medical Staff to ensure the electronic legal patient medical record and demographic data meets regulatory requirements and supports high quality patient care by being legible, complete and accurate.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum: Proof of completion of at least the first year of a formal education program in Health Information Management. Preferred: Completion of certification or degree program in Health Information management.
• Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Preferred: RHIT.
• Technical Requirements: Minimum: Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills. Knowledge of health information, multiple MRNs, breaches, and medical terminology.

Benefits

Pay for non-physician positions is determined based on related years of experience and internal equity. Eligible employees may also receive additional forms of compensation, including shift differentials, on-call pay, incentive pay, and bonus opportunities, where applicable.

Schedule

Manager and above positions may participate in Cottage Health’s annual management incentive program.

Pay

Physician compensation is determined based upon specialty and may include bonus potential.
