HIM Deficiency Analyst
About the role
The HIM Deficiency Analyst oversees chart deficiencies and incomplete medical records by ensuring all required documentation and provider signatures are obtained. They also ensure record accuracy through proper document indexing within the electronic medical record system.
Responsibilities

- Maintaining record accuracy through proper document indexing within the electronic medical record system
Requirements
- Medical records experience preferred
- Knowledge of chart documentation requirements and provider signature requirements necessary for chart completion and accuracy
- A thorough working knowledge of medical terminology
- Respects and maintains confidentiality of patient, customer, and hospital information
Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent with preferred emphasis on business courses that include typing, business English and office procedures
- Medical secretarial or approved vocational training program for medical transcriptionist appreciated but not necessary, will train
- Documented equivalent of training, experience or education
- Word processing and computer experience desirable
