Highway/Roadway Engineer

Job Summary

Langan is seeking a Highway/Roadway Engineer to join its collaborative team in Jacksonville, FL or Fort Lauderdale, FL. This individual will serve a key function in the engineering design of highways, freeways, and local roads for diversified transportation projects across the Southeast and across the country.

Job Responsibilities

• Geometric designs of highways, freeways, and local roads using national and local codes
• Concept layout and preliminary design of roads
• Preparation of construction plans
• Preparation of Traffic Signalization drawings and plans
• Design of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements
• Design of roadway drainage networks and preparation of stormwater management plans
• Construction specifications review and estimating costs and quantities
• Preparation of Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Plans (MPT)
• Secure all required permits from the appropriate authorities for various roadway projects
• Affiliate in overseeing project overall progress, budget, and milestones
• Complete ADA inspections of constructed facilities
• Perform other duties as requested

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• 3+ years of work related experience
• PE or EIT certification working towards a PE (preferred)
• Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Familiar with FDOT Standards and Specifications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities
• Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment
