Job Responsibilities
- Operates a tandem dump truck for hauling materials.
- Works with a maintenance crew performing ditch and shoulder work.
- Cleans pipes and ditches, including cleaning pipe ends, removing and replacing mailboxes, posts, and highway signs.
- Flags traffic during road repairs to control flow of traffic, protect equipment, workers, and general public.
- Affixes to supervisor in traffic control setup.
- Operates a chain saw in cutting trees on right-of-way.
- Assists with inclement weather and after-hour emergencies.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
- Six (6) months of related work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence.
- Necessary Special Requirement: A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
- Requires attainment of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement in the position.
Physical Demands
- Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and grasping.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Walking for extended periods.
- Treading rough terrain.
- Working in close proximity to motoring traffic.
- Working in natural environmental hazards.
- May be required to work outside normal scheduled work week; especially during inclement weather.
