About the role
We are seeking full-time Highway Maintenance Technicians to perform maintenance operations in the Nashville, Tennessee, and surrounding area. This role involves a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance while adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team performing a variety of highway maintenance tasks
- Be flexible and available for on-call work, including nights and weekends when required
- General maintenance of potholes, fences, seed/sod, herbicide application, etc.
- Road patrol and debris removal
- Incident response
- Heavy equipment operations
- Sign repair
- Bridge work and repair
- Longitudinal Cable Barrier (LCB) repair and installation
- Guardrail repair and installation
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Maintain company standards for background checks (criminal record, driving record, and controlled substance/drug testing)
- Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic functions
- Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
- Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
- Ability to use a smartphone and applications
- Ability to adjust to changing work schedules
- Ability to work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing manual labor
- Ability to operate hand and power tools
Preferred Experience
- Roadway maintenance or construction experience
- MOT Certifications
- CDL A
- Clean driving record
