Highway Maintenance Technician - Local CDL

About the role

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is seeking a full‑time Highway Maintenance Technician with a CDL‑A to perform maintenance operations in the Savannah, GA area. The role involves a variety of roadway maintenance tasks while adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of tasks related to roadway maintenance and adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• CDL (Class A)
• Heavy equipment experience
• Minimum 1 year of related experience
• Must pass criminal background check

Qualifications

• Have reliable transportation to and from the company office
• Ability to take direction
• Produce quality work in an efficient manner
• Agree to comply with all safety processes and procedures
• Willingness to maintain and operate construction tools safely and properly
• Maintain company standards for background checks (criminal record, driving record, controlled substance/drug testing)
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Ability to carry out simple arithmetic functions
• Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
• Ability to use a smartphone and relevant applications
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedules, work overtime, nights, and weekends
• Ability to work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds; strenuous manual labor may be required
• Ability to operate hand and power tools

Pay

Starting pay: $25+ per hour (depending on experience).

Schedule

Full‑time position; must be flexible and willing to work on‑call, overtime, nights, and weekends as needed.
