Highway Maintenance Crew
About the role
Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Skilled Crew Highway Maintenance Technicians to perform advanced maintenance operations in the Houston, TX area during the day shift, mid shift, and night shift. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, signs, guardrail and/or drainage and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Perform a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, signs, guardrail and/or drainage while adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Exposure to using shovels, weed trimming machinery, brooms, and various small hand tools
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Maintain company standards for background checks (criminal record, driving record, controlled substance/drug testing)
- Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
- Ability to carry out simple arithmetic functions
- Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
- Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
- Ability to use smartphone and applications
- Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
- Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to operate hand and power tools
Skills
- Roadway maintenance experience
- CDL license (a plus)
- Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, Fork Lift, Asphalt Roller, etc. operator experience
- Air compressor operations familiarity
- Construction or roadway maintenance experience
- Guardrail and sign installation experience
- Concrete forming/repair experience
- MOT (Traffic control certifications/courses)
- Bilingual: English/Spanish (read/write) preferred but not required
- Clean driving record (essential)
- Ability to pass criminal background check

Pay
$15/hr with no experience required; higher compensation available depending on candidate experience and certifications.
