Title: Highway Engineer (PE) - DeIDOT Projects Location: Newark, DE OR Dover, DE (Hybrid option available) Hourly Pay: $45-$60Join a well-established Mid-Atlantic engineering consulting firm recognized for delivering transportation and infrastructure projects throughout the region. This team supports roadway, highway, and public infrastructure improvements while providing engineers with strong technical mentorship, career advancement opportunities, and exposure to a diverse range of projects.What You Will Be DoingPrepare highway, roadway, and transportation engineering designs, studies, and technical reportsDevelop construction plans, specifications, contract drawings, cost estimates, and bid documentsSupport roadway design and transportation infrastructure projects from concept through final designReview engineering calculations, design criteria, and technical approaches for compliance with project requirementsAssist with geometric roadway design, plan preparation, and construction documentationCoordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver transportation projectsMentor junior engineers and assist with CADD-related training and developmentParticipate in field investigations, inspections, data collection, and project researchAttend project meetings, client discussions, and occasional public presentationsSupport DelDOT and municipal transportation projects throughout the regionWhat You Need For This JobBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline3+ years of highway, roadway, transportation, or civil engineering experienceProfessional Engineer (PE) license required (Delaware PE preferred)Experience preparing engineering reports, plans, specifications, construction documents, and cost estimatesExperience supporting transportation, roadway, highway, municipal, or public infrastructure projectsKnowledge of roadway geometry, transportation design standards, and plan developmentExperience with one or more of the following: MicroStation, OpenRoads, InRoads, GeoPAK, Civil 3D, or related transportation design softwareAbility to review engineering calculations and ensure compliance with applicable design standardsStrong written and verbal communication skillsDelDOT project experience preferredWhat's In It For YouFull benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, PE C.E.
