About the role

We are seeking an experienced Transportation – Highway Engineer to help deliver highway contracts ranging from small-scale intersection improvements to complex interchanges, new corridor designs, statewide continuing services, and design-build/owner’s representative projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop roadway designs and produce construction plans for FDOT and local agency projects
• Design horizontal and vertical alignments, roadside features, and maintenance of traffic (MOT) plans
• Coordinate utilities, prepare specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
• Support design-build and alternative delivery projects, including P3 initiatives
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in highway/roadway design
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Florida, or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Strong knowledge of FDOT standards, specifications, and procedures
• Proficiency in MicroStation, Geopak, InRoads, OpenRoads, and/or AutoCAD
• Experience with 3D design and alternative delivery methods (Design-Build, P3) is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Collaborative mindset and desire to grow professionally
• Willingness to travel to project sites, client meetings, and other WRA offices as needed
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employment-based visa sponsorship

Pay

$90,000 – $185,000 per year. The specific compensation offered may vary based on the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and experience.

Position is onsite and full-time.
