Highway Engineer

Our highway contracts range from small-scale intersection improvements to complex interchanges, new corridor designs, statewide and districtwide continuing services, and full design-build and owner’s representative services.
Responsibilities
- Develop roadway designs and produce construction plans for FDOT and local agency projects
- Design horizontal and vertical alignments, roadside features, and maintenance of traffic (MOT) plans
- Coordinate utilities, prepare specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
- Support design-build and alternative delivery projects, including P3 initiatives
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in highway/roadway design
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Florida, or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Strong knowledge of FDOT standards, specifications, and procedures
- Proficiency in MicroStation, Geopak, InRoads, OpenRoads, and/or AutoCAD
- Experience with 3D design and alternative delivery methods (Design-Build, P3) is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A collaborative mindset and a desire to grow professionally
- Willingness to travel to project sites, client meetings, and other WRA offices as needed

Pay
The expected compensation range for this position is $90,000.00 - $185,000.00. The specific compensation offered may vary based on factors including the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and experience.
