Highway Bridge Designer Intern

Job Duties

• Learn how to read bridge construction plans effectively and quickly
• Develop plans, geometric design, and detailing skills
• Become familiar with specialized bridge software
• Collaborate with experts in structural, hydrology and hydraulics, geotechnical, roadway, materials, construction, and environmental engineering
• Gain hands-on experience with bridge construction

Requirements / Qualifications

• Must be a three-fourths time student in good standing majoring in a discipline or field related to the work to be assigned
• Preferred qualifications include: A.A.S Design & Drafting Technology student with relevant coursework, ability to work 10 hours minimum per week, and experience with various computer applications
• Employment may be possible for up to 2 years with proof of enrollment in an accredited college
• Class schedules must be submitted at the beginning of employment to verify enrollment and transcripts of grades
• Temporary, full-time work may be available during breaks
