Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform new construction, maintenance, and repair of energized underground distribution systems under supervision
- Follow work orders, job plans, and verbal instructions to complete assigned tasks
- Safely operate and maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment
- Identify and select appropriate materials, including sizes and types, for pre-assembly
- Understand and maintain required minimum approach distances
- Perform physically demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions
Qualifications & Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, instructions, and procedures
- Knowledge of equipment setup and grounding practices
- Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- General knowledge of OSHA standards for energized and de-energized work environments
- Effective communication skills (written, verbal, and nonverbal)
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Technical degree, 0–2 years of field experience, mechanical aptitude, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- CDL Class A license or ability to obtain
- OSHA certifications (required or ability to obtain)
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk and hear
- Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crawl, reach, push, and pull
- Lift and carry up to 60 pounds
- Use hands for handling, gripping, and feeling
Work Environment
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, fumes, and airborne particles
- Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures and varying job site conditions
- Loud noise levels at job sites
- Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions
