High Voltage Technician III

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite and remote technical direction to site personnel and customers.
  • Prepare job planning documents that define the work scope being performed through engineering instructions, drawings, and process instructions.
  • Provide leadership to skilled labor performing work on customer sites.
  • Troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for a wide range of equipment such as power transformers, switchgear, protection relays, control systems, and motors.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems in the substations on wind and solar plants.
  • Perform administrative functions such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, and preparing job completion reports to customers.
  • Exercise good judgment in controlling costs.
  • Maintain strong safety mindset at all times.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED

Desired Characteristics

  • Previous High Voltage experience
  • Familiar with test equipment and testing procedures for transformers, relays, breakers, and underground splices.
  • Familiar with switching pad mount transformers and substations.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to read schematics.
  • Ability to write and interpret switching orders.
  • Required to mentor and train unqualified technicians
  • Proven experience in leading field service team.
  • Safety must be top priority.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Flexibility required.
  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and SmartSheets, Basic Workplace First Aid

Pay

$47.29 - $52.07 USD per hour. Geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary may apply in certain areas.
